About Us
True Wheels is a non-profit bicycle team dedicated to raising funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid Atlantic Chapter. We do it through our love of cycling. Our main event is the MS150: a wonderful 150-mile ride to Myrtle Beach at the end of every September.
This year (2006), the ride dates are 9-16 and 9-17. Most of our members live in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and surrounding North Carolina counties.
The MS 150 Bike Tour Breakaway to the Beach is the largest charity cycling event in the southeast. Each year, more than
2,000 cyclists embark on a 150-mile journey to raise money and awareness of the
fight against MS. Proceeds from the MS 150 Bike Tour help the Mid Atlantic
Chapter fund research and provide local programs for the more than 6,000 people
who live in our area with Multiple Sclerosis and their families.

Membership
To join True Wheels does not cost a thing. However, there is a $200 pledge minimum to participate in the MS150.
We encourage all True Wheels riders to reach “Top Banana” pledge status. Top Bananas raise at least $750.00 in donations from friends, family or businesses.
Whether it's your first time, or you are a Breakaway veteran, having a group of teammates
to support you as you train for and participate in the MS 150 can be invaluable.
Your teammates will be out there helping you change that flat tire, giving you someone to draft
behind during that long stretch with the headwind, or making sure that you don't miss the last turn
before a rest stop.
On the ride itself, being a member of True Wheels will identify you with an outstanding team that has an
excellent reputation for supporting MS year after year.
Other benefits:
- Organized training rides.
- Ride with friendly veterans of the MS 150.
- Social functions with team members.
- Riders of all levels to ride with.
- Helpful ideas to raise contributions.
- Discounts at local bike shops.
- Our team jerseys rock!
